Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate

chemicals

WHAT IS IT: Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate is one of the main ingredients to clean the hair

WHAT’s IT FOR:   Since SLS (sulfate) shampoos became unpopular, this ingredient is one of many used as a substitute.  It is said to be a gentler surfactant and foaming agent which also gives the shampoo that sensory feeling of cleaning.

It’s supposed to have larger molecules which means it cannot penetrate your skin and cause all kinds of nonsense to happen. It has a 2 on the EWG Skin Deep scale (The lower the number, the better)

FOUND IN: Shampoo, bubble bath, body wash, facial cleanser and more
