Polyglucose/Lactylate Blend

INCI: Decyl Glucoside (and) Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate

Polyglucose/Lactylate blend is an ECOCERT approved mild surfactant used to make shampoo, body wash, facial cleansers, and cream cleansers.

It has that lactylate system of moisturization where a small amount lactylates stay behind after washoff to continue to moisturize whatever surface on which you’ve used it.

The polyglucose/lactylate I get from ingredientstodiefor.com is a very thick (viscous), light orange(amber) color. It doesn’t take a lot to do what its supposed to do. And yes it does suds up enough to be noticeable even though it doesn’t strip the hair or skin.

Its pH is between 5 and 8, its nonionic and soluble in water.

NOTE: Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate is also found in the lactylate emulsifier called ECOMulse

I bought the polyglucose/lactylate blend to replace liquid castile in my shampoo mixes. But this is definitely not a 1:1 replacer.

Polyglucose/lactylate is very, very thick, meaning you can dilute it as much as you like and it will still have cleaning power. And it does have suds, for those who want that sensory experience.

Add it to tea to make a cleansing herbal shampoo.

Latest Shampoo recipe w/ polyglucose include these ingredients:
Polyglucose/lactylate
Goat milk
Baobab oil

In addition, I’ve used polyglucose/lactylate to make a facial wash. I’m still trying out recipes. None are quite awesome enough yet, but that’s partially my fault. I need to get a more diverse, less pH sensitive preservative.

Latest facial wash recipe I’m using includes these ingredients:
Polyglucose/lactylate
Naturesilk (acting as a solvent for powered ingredients)
Allantoin
Neodefend (preservative)
Sodium lactate (skin only; humectant properties)
Xanthan gum (thickener)
Guar gum (super slip)

I haven’t gotten a 90% to 100% blend I would recommend just yet. Still playing with the percentages. But just know that Polyglucose/lactylate looks like its exactly what I need.

Thank you for this I got this by accident and I want to make shower gel I was wondering were could I buy a book on recipes and more info I did search but there is limited information and thank you for your share.
